Be AN Architect of your SKIN…

Blogshutterstock_657470791We need to keep all the layers firm and nicely constructed, working on our elastin and collagen. Like this pic in (chose it for its lovely colours) Hong Kong, great symmetry, strong and vibrant, just like your skin should be… The science bit…Skin has three layers: The epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone. The dermis, beneath the epidermis, contains tough connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands. The deeper subcutaneous tissue (hypodermis) is made of fat and connective tissue We need to work on our collagen and elastin, fibers that make up the supporting structure of our skin. Collagen gives skin its firmness while elastin keeps skin tight. Both of these fibers are plentiful in young skin and start to break down with natural aging and as a result of sun exposure. So my top tips for keeping the architecture strong and beautiful: Find Vitamin A rich foods or invest in a retinol Keep hydrated, 2 litres of water a day! Wear SPF Take a collagen supplement Moisturise!
